From humble beginnings ...

Milka was born in Miska Glava, a little village in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She was one of 8 children and started baking at the early age of 10. They didn’t have much, so Milka had to be creative with what she had at hand. In June of 2000, she, her husband, and their children embarked on an uncertain journey to the United States, leaving behind family, friends, and their possessions due to war. She had to start her life all over with nothing. When they got settled in, she picked up baking again. She made all the cakes, cookies, and desserts for free for family and friends. She often thought about how she could turn her baking into a business. With the support of her family, Milka is now a fully licensed home bakery and here we are making delicious Olde World European recipes for all of our new friends and family here in the United States. We look forward to sharing our treats with you too.
